Last two weekends got a total of 32 butts at Pt. Retreat and Rocky Island on squid and herring. Also slew several dozen rockfish, cod and salmon (pinks, silvers, and chums) mooching.
Just got a new boat and I want to get some halibut blood in it next month. I live in Kingston and was wondering if anyone knows of some good fishing around the north end of Kitsap co? I know where to fish out of PA but have no idea of any places between PA and King...
has anyone fished in the puget sound south of Seattle for Halibut? I am new, and I see that the game laws permit it, I'm just not sure where would be a good area to go? Thanks, Bo
The 2010 season is on, with the first few Halibut moving in to sportfishing range. Bouoy 4 area is now holding a few good size fish. Yesterday's trip resulted in several fish in the 40-70lb range caught on 16oz grub jigs in 130ft of water. Productive colors were o...
Halibut Fishing from Ucluelet BC Canada
Halibut fishing is finally starting to show some signs of life. The past few years halibut fishing takes a bit to get started, but then runs along pretty fast. The highlight for us this past week is catching the 110 halibut,...
Slooow is the word around here. Some guys are doing well, but must are not. Alot of fisherman not alot of fish. Hopefully will get better this week for the derby.
Fished thru the rips on Saturday (5/9) to find two chickens taken in the afternoon. Honestly, coolest double ever. Two instant take downs and limits. Good Day!
Limits on Sunday 5/10/09 & Monday 5/11/09 with lots of sunshine and bathtub calm waters despite the less than ideal currents/tides. Patience is truly a virtue as it eventually pays off! Largest was 80 lb'er & smallest was 35 lb'er
Looking to try Protection Island for Halibut tomorrow based on advice from friends in Port Townsend. Anyone have any specific advice for that area? Haven't seen any fishing reports, Thanks! Good luck this year!
A couple friends and I went out of Eureka down towards Cape Mendocino on May 6. We did a bunch of homework and found a couple likely spots. We tried everything from 600 to 200 feet. In about 250 ft. we came across a small little rockpile and ended up getting two f...

I understand the indians have been long lining the are...

Landed a 68 lb'er & a small chicken 380-400ft water depth on Friday 5/9/08, wind blew everyone off the water on Saturday 5/10/08, 147 lb hali landed 410ft water depth on Sunday 5/11/08 along with several other anglers landing hali's around 11:30am, wind/tides blew ev...

Hows the hali fishing at the mouth of Nootka Sound around the 15th of April? Will be out again this year but have little expirience with halibut. Any advice would be great.
Thanks
Salmon and Halibut fishing was great in the Summer of 2005 right up into August--you could hook a halibut every time you put your line to the bottom. Huge Chinook were again showing up in good numbers with many between 25-50lbs.

The halis are in! Several offshore spots, at the Big Bank are producing nice chickens over the last few days (20 - 40 pounders). The "Wreck", "Southwest", even the outside of South Bank we've been bringing in good numbers. Along with the chinooks and then the coho...
We go to kitimat fishing for salmon every year, and try for halibut every year but no luck. we tried asking people around there but eveyone is tight lipped. Anyone now of a decent spot. Either name or gps would be great. I'd like to catch one this year.
Went out on the Northern Lights out of Homer, Alaska on June 8th. Weather was a little strong and the tides were strong. There were 11 people on the boat and we were 2 fish short of our limit when we went to a calmer site. We limited out at the second site. Fish r...

Salmon and Halibut fishing was as good as it could get for the Summer of 2005. Halibut fishing was great right up into August--you could get a halibut every time you put your line to the bottom on some days. The large Chinook were again showing up in good numbers wit...
