Halibut Fishing from Ucluelet BC Canada

Halibut fishing is finally starting to show some signs of life. The past few years halibut fishing takes a bit to get started, but then runs along pretty fast. The highlight for us this past week is catching the 110 halibut, though, that is nice for pictures but not the best eating. We generally recommend getting halibut from 15-30 pounds as they taste the best. Halibut don’t usually change too much on their feeding like salmon and you can use both spoons and hootchies along the bottom or bottom bouncing with scented bait. Best spot around Ucluelet right now is Big Bank and we are getting them mostly on the troll.
