Re: Former Barton Transport (Nottingham) vehicles.

Hi There,

The one in the museum in cork is in a bad way, having ben stripped for parts as the body is very corroded, a lot of engine parts went on CIE E106 and a number of seats were also removed for other coaches. The interior is full of interesting metal objects too! The other 79WX vehicle was scrapped in 2005 as far as i can find out.

Hi Steve, many thanks for that info, very useful to me, Happy New Year....

Re: Former Barton Transport (Nottingham) vehicles.

Hi,me again, I came over to the museum last Thursday, weather dreadful, but thoroughly enjoyed my visit, amazing amount of vehicles, I could have spent a week there !

Saw 538, yes she is in bad nick, but at least she is still with us !

Anyway I got another snippet of info re an ex Barton Leopard which may be in the yard of Wharton, Crossdoney, Co Cavan. She is former Barton 1585 PTV585X, Irish reg 81-WX-538, have seen a photo of her in their yard, but dont know how old it is. Have tried e mailing and phoning Whartons, but no response. Any idea ??
