Niculàs Arent Buch born 1755 in Norway.

Niculàs Arent Buch.

Hello,
Our family's 4 x great grandfather , Peter Christian Buch, was born in Helsingør, Denmark in 1723.
He went to Northern Norway, and settled, and married Norwegian.
He was a rich man.
In the year 1755 he exported 100 (possibly white) reindeers as a gift to Iceland.
For this he got a gold medal from the Danish king.

He sent his son, Nicolai Arnt Buck, to bring the deers to Iceland.

Nicolay Arnt settled there, and married Icelandic, and he changed his name to Niculàs Arent Buch. At first he lived at Bakki, Tjørnes.
He had many descendants, and has been called "THE FATHER OF THE ICELANDIC POPULATION".

I should guess that a lot of Icelanders have him as a forefather.

I have some information about Peter Buch's and Niculas' Norwegian and Danish ascendants.

Two years ago, I gave my information to Icelandic genealogists living in Denmark. They told me that my information was unknown to them.
But maybe that this information is tofday commnly known.

If you are a descendant after Peter and Nikulas, I should gladly mail you information. (Language Norwegian)
(Of course no costs).

Yours

Bjarne Logstein, Moss, Norway.
