2010 REUNION

WELL WE ARE GETTING VERY CLOSE TO OUR 2010 REUNION. I JUST WANT TO MAKE A FEW POINTS. I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE READ THESE MESSAGES BUT HERE I GO. I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY OF YOU REALIZE THAT VERY SOON THE TWO REMAINING BARRICKS ON CAMPUS WILL BE TAKEN DOWN. THE ASSISTED LIVING COMPLEX RIGHT NEXT TO THE CAMPUS IS TRYING TO BUY THAT PROPERTY IN WHICH THEY WILL MAKE THAT A PARKING LOT. FOR ME IT HAS BEEN 45 YEARS SINCE I GRADUATED. I GRADUATED IN 1965 THE SCHOOL CLOSED IN 1973. SO WE ALL KNOW AGE IS CREEPING UP ON ALL OF US AND AS SOME ONE TOLD ME RECENTLY THERE ARE MORE YEARS BEHIND US THAN AHEAD OF US. IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE EVERYONE AGAIN WHILE WE ARE ALL HEALTHY ENOUGH TO DO THIS. I THINK FOR THE MAJORITY OF US R.M.A. WAS MORE THAN JUST A SCHOOL. ALOT OF US BECAME GREAT FRIENDS AND AS TIME PASSED BY A LOT OF US HAVE NOT SEEN THE CADETS WE HAD WONDERFUL FRIENDSHIPS WITH. SO IN ENDING IT WOULD BE GREAT FOR AS MANY OF US AS POSSIBLE TO REUNITE WITH OUR FELLOW CADETS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE REUNION PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME. MY E MAIL kram303@comcast.net. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OF YOU AT THE REUNION

Re: 2010 REUNION

Thanks for the info Bob - I hope a lot of the guys out there are checking the forum and realize that this year will be the last chance to see the barracks and the "slab".
As this will be my 50th. anniversary of graduation, it will be my last visit - and now that I know it will all be gone soon it will make it very special for me to be there before the demolition begins. I remember the video showing the demolition of the Administration building and the emotion that it brought forth. Hope we get some videos of the barracks going down also.
We need to spread the word to everyone, whether in the Roster or not, so that everyone has a last chance to go down "memory lane" and attend what might very well be the grand finale.
Thanks for your help in putting together this reunion, as well as thanks to Rick & Ronn, - you guys are helping to keep us together.
See you in August!!!

Re: 2010 REUNION

Do we know how much will it cost to preserve and save the slab and Niles Hall? Is the problem a money issue?

Re: 2010 REUNION

Frank, go back to 15 Sept 09 Posting, think you'll find your answers there.

Re: 2010 REUNION

Done! Now, any idea what the cost to own just that property or the cost of making the bulding sorta safe? So it will be preserved?
