Welcome to our Philly Runners forum. This message board is provided for running-related discussion in the Philadelphia area and around the world. You are welcome to start your own topics and reply to others.
 
You don't need to post only running-related items, but commercial interests don't have a business being on here (unless you're trying to sell your used treadmill, for example). We don't have "rules" but will try to use our best good-faith judgment. 

Please do not list the full name of anybody other than yourself. Please use first names only or first name plus first letter of last name. Messages that include full names will be deleted. 

When starting a topic for an event with a specific date, please list the date of the event in the subject line. For example: "Media 5 Miler Friday June 17".

Some posts will be deleted after a while due to space limitations. Have fun, and please be sure to visit our main website for more information on our club and more running-related information.

Philly Runners Race Day/BBQ/change out flat bike tube workshop Sunday May 16

Hey Everyone!
The votes are in and the 5K and 10K were the most popular race options! The event is currently planned as follows:
9:15AM Runners Arrive for 10K
9:30AM 10K Start
10:15AM Runners Arrive for 5K
10:30AM 5K Start

*** We may also offer a half-marathon course.

After the last runner has finished the 5K, we will have a BBQ on Lemon Hill through sometime in the afternoon. As is everything in COVID, things will be socially distant/masked so byo drinks/snacks/comfy chair or blanket to sit on. We will provide more information on BBQ later.

Again, this is completely unofficial so any times will be taken by other Philly Runners/volunteers so please be kind if the timing isn't perfect.

There is no cost to do this race. You don't have to race to come to the BBQ. If you want a longer race than 10K, you can run both races. I will try to provide some water bottles for everyone but otherwise you will need to bring things for yourself. There will be a prize for top male and female finishers of each race. It will be cheap and small and potentially something you don't even want!

We're still working out the exact race course. More details to follow!

For the BBQ, I will be providing burgers, bratwursts, buns, condiments, water, paper cups and plates and plastic silverware and not much else for the low pandemic BBQ price of $5. Anything else you want to eat or drink, please bring it. Alternatively you can bring everything you want to eat, pay nothing and I won't be at all offended.

*** Please wear a mask when approaching the food table and grill.

I will once again be offering the change a flat bike tube workshop at/after the BBQ for anybody who wants to learn how to do that.
