\"To those who have fought for it, Life has a flavor that the protected will never know!\"
Between mortars, rockets, RPGs, booby traps and bullets, there was no safe place in for a soldier in Vietnam.
Remember your Christmas in the Nam? Mine was spent on an ambush patrol near the Cambodian border.

Anyone remember the Americal Provost Marshal in 1968? Tall. Big nose. Nicknamed Chicken Man. Full-bird Colonel. Tried to bust him for selling pilfered weapons in HUGE quantity on the international black market. He put out a contract on me, but that failed. Sorry I failed to bust this traitor.

I was in the 560th after you were gone. Just finished your \"Ghosts of Vietnam\". Thanks for telling your story so honestly. I found the narrative to be very accessible and a good, clear read. I was saddened by the turn of events and am happy you have found peace. Best regards.
