This site has proved invaluable as I write my family history covering so many Norfolk villages. Without this my task would have been a hundred times more difficult! Thanks for designing such a brilliant site and an indispensable aid to F.H. research.

Hi there! Thank you for this site. I lived in Cambridgeshire for 4.5 years and toured many of the local churches while there. I visited the Threxton church one lovely August day and found it to be one of my favorite.
Best wishes,
Robin B.

Interesting website, I have book marked the same and intend to spend more time visiting the site. My late father was always going on about his Norfolk background but very vague on the facts. So there is a little bit of interest in subject.

Wonderful and informative site, thank you Simon! Two of my great aunts died in Lower Close at Norwich in the late 1800s and I could not work out why they were listed as being of the parish of St Mary in the Marsh rather than Norwich Cathedral. Now, all is clear.

Many thanks Simon - I\'ve been researching my family tree and have many connections to the church in Briston. Really helpful and great to be able to visualise where my ancestors married, were baptised, etc.

Just walked from Halvergate to Tunstall. Cold and sunny - a lovely ramble. Wanted to find out about the church so thanks very much for the info. As you say, plain interior but very atmospheric.

Hi Simon, I just wanted to commend you on the amount of work you must have invested in this archive. An incredible collection of information and imagery. I have a friend who also loves to photograph and document churches and have shared your site with him.

Wonderful site, well done.

All my best for the future, Heidi

I am investigating my family tree and was informed that James Langley who died 1/1/1898 was interred in the West Tofts churchyard. I don\'t know if there is any way of confirming this since it is within a restricted area.

St Peter\'s could be the church that my 3 times great granddad was baptised in, he was born in Brooke. Even if he was not baptised here I found this site most interesting and St Peter\'s looks from the pictures a really nice church.
I am glad I took the time to look at this site.

I love this church. I love the solitude. I feel at peace whenever I visit. I was born at High Houses Heckingham, I was christened here and my paternal grandparents and my parents lie in the churchyard beside the path to the Church. I try to visit every year for the St Gregory\'s Day Service at the beginning of September. Beside visiting the family grave I always pay my respects at the memorial to the residents of the Workhouse who lie in unmarked graves behind the church. Family lie here too. Let none of us forget how easy it was to loose everything, especially when many lived in tied housing. Loose your breadwinner and you lost your home.

I was born in the old Chapel near this lovely church of StMary at tilney cum Islington, went to many a service here before they stopped using it as a church, the roof was removed a few years after as lads would climb the rafters to catch pigeons and then they would fall and many a bone has been broken, such a shame the roof had to be taken off as it was a lovely church in its going day, my grandfather is buried in the churchyard but alas he has no headstone, really must go back and have another look at this church must try to find out were he is buried have a vague idea

Back in the 50\'s and early 60\'s we used to have family holidays just down the road by the beach, staying in a bungalow which, in the 50\'s had no electricity or running water. Really exciting for us kids! We used to walk or cycle past St Andrews frequently. Using \'StreetView\' I thought I\'d see if the church is still there and it is. Will make the effort to visit this area, full of happy memories, during 2015.

Your site is invaluable - I have managed to track down churches & chapels used by my ancestors that I would have struggled to find otherwise - most notably Meeting Hill Baptist Chapel (near Worstead) & the Swedenborgian Chapel in Norwich .... I am yet to \"find\" St Margaret\'s Church at Morton-on-the-Hill (next on my list!). Thank you so much for all the wonderful information on your site - it has helped bring my research to life!
