It is quite special to visit the churches where my ancestors were baptised - not too sure about continuing worship, but nice to think that they were there sometime in their lives - early to mid 19th century. The photos are beautiful and the commentary most interesting. Thank you Simon. |

It's a very enjoyable site, very infomative, beautifully illustrated - the photographs are wonderful - and the comments are both scholarly and very entertaining - they are thoroughly well-informed, intriguing, and often quietly witty. Thank you. |

I love this site and the sister site of Suffolk Churches. Doing research on my family tree, I found that I have loads of ancestors from Norfolk and Suffolk areas so seeing the churches where they were baptised, married or buried is amazing. Thank you for all your efforts and the comments you have made on each church. |

I have been reading 'At Home' by Bill Bryson. He mentions that Wymondham Abbey can be seen in the distance from the roof of the ex-rectory in which he lives. I wanted to have a look at Wymondham Abbey for myself :) Thankyou |

Looking for yet more information about my wife's ancestors from Norfolk. I knew that her gg grandfather (James Lovock) came from the Rockland St Peter area and am delighted with your pictures of the local parish church and the description. I feel that I have had the privilege of being there, with you giving a running commentary. Thank you very much. Your hard work is much appreciated. Jim K. |

Thank you for the pictures of All Saints church in Santon Downham. My dear nan (sadly passed on) has told me stories of her childhood holidays visiting her aunt who used to live in one of the cottages behind the church. They used to attend services at this quaint little church. She remembers the trees for the forest being planted so i assume it was around 1924-25 when she used to visit. Thanks again x |

excellent profiles, I was searching my family genealogy TEMPLE-CHIPPERFIELD, and traced them through web to Forncett St Peter. My Temple sept are Morston-Wells-Barton Lincs based as well as Hessle-Hull. I do not drive a car so these profiles enable me to capture the ambience of these Norfolk villages. Hope u can update the sites in 2011. Good Luck, Geoff Dixon-Hamilton editor |

Thank you so much for the lovely photos of the church at Ditchingham, I used to sing in the choir there many years ago. There is a street in the Village named for my father, William George Clark. I have been fortunate to travel to many exotic and wonderful places during my life, but my childhood in Ditchingham is still near and dear to me. |

Reading about Starston church. It used to have margaruette daisies painted on the ceiling. I was told because it is St Margeret church. Are they still there I wonder? |

Thank you for the pictures of St. Maurice in Briningham. My gggg-grandparents, James Middleton and Elizabeth Doughty were married in this church in 1817. Thank you also for the pictures of All Saints Church in Briston. James and Elizabeth's children were baptized in All Saints, from 1818 to 1835. They then moved to Michigan. I was adopted at age 3 and never knew my biological family until last year when my sister and I found each other. We are now in our 50's. Since then we have been researching our family history which has led us to Norfolk, England. Thanks again for providing me with pictures to my past. |

My great-great grandfather, Samuel Burleigh, died while pealing the bells at this church in 1904 and I wanted to find a picture of it. The picture on this website is beautiful, as the only ones I had were in black and white. Your detailed article is wonderful. Would love to visit this place some day! |

I visited the church at Stow Bardolph last weekend, as one of my wife's ancestors is buried in the church. His name's Robert Brighton and he was the steward for the Stow Hall Estate owned by the Hares. I wish I'd read your review before I'd gone. I would have visited the pub! I understand that Cambridgeshire High School for Boys became Hills Road Sixth Form College. I went there from 1990-92! |
