Alaska: Ketchikan Fishing Reports

I will be in Ketchikan Sept 12 to 17 to attend a Forestry meeting and would like to hook up with someone for halibut or salmon fishing.
I would be glad to pay for fuel and expenses or trade for great fishing in Tennessee.

How is Halibut fishing in September here? If good, would like to hire reliable service for day. I will be in Ketchikan Sept 15th from 10am to 5:30 pm on cruise ship Island Princes.

halibut fishing in september here is very slow.i've been catching them from march through august and then the fish go deep to spawn.try silver salmon in september they are in thick then. if your coming on a cruise ship you can book your trip onboard and then a bus will take you to knudson marina where you go out for 4 hrs fishing. it's not much time to halibut fish for a 4 hour trip because i run 45 minutes to get to my spot!try salmon!!!
