No postings because the long legal battle has just begun. Blanchard's duplicity continues. In early October, he stated that it would be "unfair" to file charges so close to election day. Then two weeks later file charges he did, shamed into doing so based on McCann's complaint against Chvala. So much for Blanchard's "integrity."
But examining the complaints closely, one is immediately struck by the difference in magnitude of the accusations. Chvala very clearly engaged in "pay to play" politics, if the allegations of the complaint are true. Conversely, Blanchard's complaints are bereft of such evidence and mainly reveal that which most knew all along, i.e. state workers campaigned on state time. It is obvious that Blanchard slapped this complaint together at the last minute so as not to be embarrassed by the fact that McCann had "bagged a big fish" and he was left with an empty hook. Not good to be empty-handed just before the election.
For a self-described political "neophyte," Blanchard learns quickly. Witness his decision to reduce charges against the Afghani youth to help him avoid deportation on the day before the election. Played well to the Madison liberals who form the base of his support.
Unfortunately, Rick Raemish ran a spectacularly boring campaign which failed to take advantage of Blanchard's many failings, not the least of which was to drop the ball on a $1 million domestic violence grant from the feds. So, we must suffer through another 2 years of Blanchard's ineptitude. It will be interesting to see how he fares in court against Jensen et al's lawyers. Amatuer hour is over.
To answer your question, now that the election is over, I doubt that Doyle will see any consequences from the caucus investigation. McCallum tried and failed to make it an issue in the election and, short of some bombshell revelation, it is unlikely that the voters will listen to any further mud on this score. The Elections and Ethics Boards are far too timid to challenge Doyle and both Blanchard and McCann are in bed with Doyle, as he has provided his own investigators for their use. Blanchard doesn't have the wherewithal (not to mention the intelligence and testicular fortitude) to go after Doyle and McCann has already demonstrated his inclination to protect his fellow prosecutors, so my guess is that Doyle walks away scot free, his use of state employees on his campaign notwithstanding.

Why hasn't any postings been done since the election? I have been finding your comments informative, however none since October. How does everyone think Doyle is going be handled for his part in this . (If any)
