Covington is Going Green

After getting the new tote and GOING GREEN flyer today then I think some questions need answering. Since when does GOING GREEN have anything to do with these humungus trash can's being forced on us? I, like most of us in Covington have can's already that are already bought and paid for that are still in very new/useable condition. Exactly what are we to do with these now? Is Covington's idea of GOING GREEN pitching these out to the curb for trash so we can further fill the landfills with piles of plastic and metal cans from a whole city? I thought this was exactly the opposite of what we are supposively trying for? Not to mention now I can see exactly why the refuse bill is so outlandish. I was wandering why it costs $20.00 for a recycle bin now it makes more sence.

At what point are our city represenitives gona wake up and stop finding ways to throw peoples money away? I thought the new school idea was bad and now you just keep adding to the list. Is anyone up town even noticing the resession we are living with? People in jobless circumstances, loosing homes ect.

I yet want to see some of our elderly/disabled folks pushing these big can's around. I can see right now alot of thought (sarcasem) went into this attempt at so called recycling.

I believe in recycling that you can trust but when our officials try and push this nonscense into a good program as to hide it then I have to be the first to say someone needs booted out of office. Nothing worse then a deception.

Thanks for the mini dumpster and the bill,

Mr. Chris Kessler

Re: Covington is Going Green

Amen! I keep all bills and post dates paid. Secone quarter, refuse collection bills to be doubled. In April paid $27.00; May paid 18.00, June 18.00 - are we going to be credited for the extra $9.00 we paid.
Would suggest you put your article in newspaper, not everyone has computer.

Re: Covington is Going Green

Since the city council feels we don't need an explaination to this post already showing for just over a week then what does this tell our community?

Now that I've given it even more thought then one more thing to notice is this senario has more like a "monkey see, monkey do" feel to it. Bradford talks water plant, school and trash and poof Covington starts talking the same.

Should Covington residents just skip the middle man and just go to the Bradford council meetings? Maybe there we might get an answer?
