Monday, July 28, 2008, Jay Wackler, President, Covington Chamber of Commerce made statements at the 7:00 P.M. Village of Covington, Council Meeting related to an Insurance Plan the Village would purchase. After further investigation by both the Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Covington it turns out the information Wackler based his remarks on was not complete. Wackler agrees that the Insurance Plan the village has selected is an exception to normal Chamber offerings. Wackler had stated that he could save the Village of Covington $425.00 by verification of their membership to the Covington Chamber. It turns out that this exception does require membership to the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. There were never any questions about the Insurance Plan price or offering. It is understood that the Village did an in depth evaluation and has selected the best offering for their needs.
