The Fiji Labour Party claims that extreme racism does exist in Fiji.
And FLP leader, Mahendra Chaudhry has also blamed the government for bringing in alleged racist policies for their own political benefit.
Chaudhry said that the extent of racism in Fiji is not only witnessed by the people in the country but it has also been identified at the international level.

When questioned whether the FLP also uses the race card to attract more supporters, Chaudhry denied the claim, saying that they are fighting the alleged racist policies.
However the Prime Minister believes that extreme racism does not exist in the country, and that Fiji does not have serious problems amongst the indigenous community and other races.
While Laisenia Qarase admits that extreme racist comments may have been made by some members of the public, he believes that they still belong to a minority group.
