5/21 report

No bass today, oh well. Caught 3 keeper cats. Biggest came on a 2" white mister twister I was trying to catch crappie with, maybe 3-4 lbs. Other two took shrimp on the bottom. Also caught one crappie and one decent (not huge) white perch, both on shrimp.

Bigger cat came from the cove just east of the ramp at Flemington. One came from the east side of the WMA peninsula, and the last came from the creek with the water plant on it.

We also caught numerous smaller white perch, so evidently they are done doing whatever they have been doing and starting to school up, as well as several very fat bullhead and a baby cat. All cats were channels.

Once again, majority of the fish in 12-15' of water on shelves or points near deeper water.

Wind kind of screwed up the drift from noon on, but morning was very nice.

Also, kudos to the Tar Heel tournament guys. They did not hog all the parking at the ramp, and seemed like a well run, well orgnaized tournament. I was dreading what the ramp would look like after the past couple tournaments, but these guys seemed like a good bunch. We also did not get cut off or wake pounded too bad on the lake, unlike some tourneys.
