Went to Buffalo Saturday afternoon and drifted from the mouth of the Dan down to the Buffalo landing with cut brim for bait, didnt have a single bite, finally went in to a cove to do a little crappie fishing and saw some shad popping the surface. Netted a few and caught a 5lb blue and a 3lb channel with in about an hour. In that cove. Should I have been using shad the entire time or was I fishing in the wrong place? I was kind of surprised I didnt get a bite on the brim. Any ideas?
