Recently installed downriggers on my 18' Neptuen boat.
Would like to know how far behind ball should I have bucktail or lure? Would it be bette to split and have two bucktails/lures on line?

that's how we run bucktails on planer boards, one on a 18" leader and one a little farther back, should be the same for a downrigger. Make sure your hooks are super sharp.

I run mine about 40 feet behind the ball which causes the lure to run about 5 feet below the ball. Last year I was killing the striper on white headed lime tailed 1oz Road Runners with lime curly tails. This year they seem to want white on white. Anyone else noticing this? I am kind of curious about what everyone else is running.
