Hey everybody, I just wanted to give ya'll my weekend update. We stayed in a cabin at staunton river state park. We fished off the far point of the island. Smaller shad(3"-5") were easily gotten on Friday but had to break out the ultralite on Sat.for some bream and crappie. Saturday every cast had 5 to 20 tiny cats in it, that's a pain in the net as you all know. We landed several fish 4 to 12 lbs. Had one on sat evening just before dark that my 6500 garcia and eagle claw popping rod didn't want to handle. He ended up breaking my 25 lb. big game line. It was that or the rod. I wish I had been in my skiff!!!!!
Hope ya'll had a productive weekend. Does anybody know what won the tournaments?

sounds like a good time to me, sorry that big one broke your line. i am a shore fisherman so im use to them breaking my line and getting off.
