BIG FISH!!

BANGKOK, Thailand - This big one did not get away. Thai fishermen netted a 646-pound catfish believed to have been the world's largest freshwater fish ever caught in Thailand, a researcher said Thursday.

From what I saw on Pardon the Interuption (PTI) on ESPN, The wildlife biologist pleaded with the gentlemen to releash the fish. I believe they tryed to releash the fish but it died and they ate it...What Luck...Tight Lines Guys!

It cant be the worlds largest freshwater catch. Must be a Thailand record. Think about the sturgeon.

Truly sad to see something that large caught and killed,I guess in that part of the world they eat a lot of fish so hopefully it wasn't wasted!Lot of genes that could have continued the larger cats?Does a catfish that large any good to eat I wonder?

I believe the largest of the sturgeon live both in fresh and saltwater.(I could be wrong though...Beluga, White and Atlantic come to mind). Thus they might not consider them as freshwater records?
