I'm taking my daughter fishing at Kerr lake this Friday. It is the first time I have ever fished there. Can anyone give me any pointers on where to fish and with what? Are the cats easy to catch? Can you catch them during the day? Are Stripes bitting? Any help you can give me would be really appreciated.

What part of the lake are you going to be on? Fish all the rock points you can find with med. running crankbaits and car. rigs. Depending on your girls age, minnows under a cork is always fun for kids. Cut bait or stink bait on the bottom will catch cats just about anywhere, have fun with your girl.

Rick- Thanks for responding. We will be at Clarksville. I wanted to have her pull in some Stripers and Catfish. What size line do you need? Do you need a leader? If so what lb line? Do you fish on the bottom for Stripers too?

i use 30-40 lb line berkley big game, with a 18 inch 50 lb mono leader.
