I have been having trouble finding shad last few weeks just wondering if it is just me or is everybody having trouble. Any help thanks guys!

Man I live in greensboro and take my shad with me. It is worth the extra time to get good 4to 6 inch quality bait. We caught 17 yesterday in 3 hours. 2 were around 20lbs. Don't settle for those 2 inch shad or minnows.

Where are you catching your bait?

I catch mine at Lake townsend and there is a local pond we keep stocked with shad. Contrary to what you here they will live in a pond and multiply if it's over 10 to 12 feet deep. Good luck

Try your points especially early and late,back in some of the short coves off main channel and mud banks .

DanMan I really don't know where you are fishing, but we have been catching all the shad we need at the lower rock wall in the dan river. If you are fishing towards Milton then thats not really going to do you a lot of good. We have caught really nice size gizzard shad. Last time we went I caught about 3 dozen in about 45 min.
