Top Water Bite

Got out on the lake Friday evening, 7 - 8, caught several LMB including get into some top water action with a tiny torpoedo. I too the wife out Sunday evening, again the LMB starting busting shad in small schools on the surface. Changed out my wife's crankbait to a surface toprpedo and she was able to catch her first LMB with a surface lure. Between us we cuaght 10+ in less than two hours, GREAT FUN. BTW, color didn't matter, start stop retrieve, many misses, let the lure sit, twitch it again and fish on.

Re: Top Water Bite

what part of the lake?

Re: Top Water Bite

As far as fishing goes, there's nothing like casting into a school of baitfish being chased by predator fish. (Fresh or salt water). By far, my favorite way of fishing!!! Yee,Haw!!!

Re: Top Water Bite

Location, main lake points, near Occonechee. My guess, any points where there are large schools of shad. We even saw them in the middle of the lake.
