Rockfish at Palmers?

Thinking about going bank fishing at Palmers Pt. the next couple of days. We caught some real good fish as they were going up to spawn but havent been back since then. Just wandering if anyone has been catching them in the palmers or Keats Branch area. We usually fish near the boat ramp and swimming area were the water is only most of the time 4 to 6 ft. Do yall think we should we try our luck.

Thanks Randy Faulkner

Re: Rockfish at Palmers?

Couldn't hurt, looks like they are back in the main lake, or at least the front runners are. They were pretty deep Saturday though (about 30-40'), so not sure if you can reach that depth from shore or not there.

Re: Re: Rockfish at Palmers?

If you can only fish skinny water try fishing at night. Stripers really turn on in the dark. I fish a lot at night and have experienced that bite. I usually fish a fluke on a light jig head but bream, large minnows or shad should work great. Try fishing them under a cork if lighting permits. If not still try the cork but keep your line fairly tight as to not miss the bite. We caught over 45 this morning near the Gaston Dam. So, if they are that far down gaston then they should be some fish near palmers.
