bass'n in July

Coming up to Kerr for a week in July. We will be staying at a camp ground on Nutbush. My Question is, around this time of year, what depth, and what types of bait should I use for LM Bass. This is a family trip, I live near the beach in NC, so I rarely fresh water fish. I catch and release and will be fishing from a boat. In the years past I have been skunked because I just don't know enough about it. I would appreciate any help I can get and post my results thanks. All my previous trips have been small ( less than a pound cats and shiners)

Also,
My kids have caught crawfish at the banks in the morning, how do you rig them.

Re: bass'n in July

i do best trollin for LMB in july. i use either a deep divin plug that'll tip bottom or a floatin rapala on leadcore. if i find a place i can catch more than one, i like to stop an cast. there's an under water tressle in nutbush that i've had very good luck on in july. get ya a map an find it...ya won't be sorry.

Thanks Fishdoc,

I will most definately get a map, I think I already have a GMCO laying around somewhere. I will try the trolling method.
