Staunton River Stripers

Caught 2 this morning just below Brookneal. A small one and 1 about 27". Lost a couple more.

1/4 oz jig head with super fluke in white.

The river is insanely low around Brookneal, going down my normal route Campbell county side the boat was bottoming out on sand bars.

Re: Staunton River Stripers

Glad to hear you are still hanging in there with them stripers. It is a shame they wont run enough water for people who buy license and equipment to fish in the river wihtout tearing up everything they have. Guess we dont count! Good luck buddy.

Re: Staunton River Stripers

That what happens when Virginia Beach is allowed to divert millions of gallons per hour for their own use.

Thanks John.G.

Yep its bad, I had to back the trailer off the ramp about 8-10ft, sad part was it started rising up the further I backed in.

You just about have to use a canoe to fish Brookneal area now.

maybe this rain will help.

What rain?

Re: Staunton River Stripers

It rained about 1.5 hours, solid down pour in Gladys/Brookneal area Saturday evening. I guess it was just spotty.
