Allrightythen, say I've caught a couple of nice cats and
its midnight, I'm definitely not in the mood to clean these puppies when I get home, how do I keep em fresh so I can clean them tommorow? Do I ice them down, bleed them. Any help would be most appreciated, cleaning cats in the daytime is less than wonderful work, after dark,
it's downright depressing.

The catfish guys won't appreciate this but... I have never had a problem packing them on ice right in with the crappie

i always let my catch sit on ice overnight. seems to firm the meat for easier filleting.

Thats right ice them downgood, preferbely right after you catch them. another trick you might want to try is cut a slit from below the gills up to the backbone. this severs all the bloodflow in the fish and the blood will drain from the body including the meat, and blood taints meat. you will end up with better tasting fisg
