Fished Grassy Creek and Island Creek area today with little success. Caught one on a lipless crankbait on riprap and another one on a Carolina rig on a long point. Definitely tough today - for me at least.
Got reprimanded for fishing inside of buoys in Island Creek area where pump station is located. Buoy as you approach from East only says "danger", while others say "No boats". Park ranger did not write me a ticket - very nice fellow - but made me go back and read each buoy. As I said - three said "no boats" but the one from my approach only said "danger". All were very faded and hard to read anyway. I guess seeing that blue heron feeding on a shad inside the buoys was too much for me!
