What's the best technique and where to catch shad on Kerr? I'm only having luck going to the Clarkesville Marina, but the drive sucks.

I use a ten foot 3/4" mesh net with 1.5 lbs per foot. I'm targeting big gizzards this time of year. Have most luck early in am in backs of coves and mud banks. Should see some flipping in the early am.

Are you talking about a sine or cast net?

Cast net, im sure. . .i use a 6 ft cast net, and it gets me all the shad i need, as long as i can find em.

Big John you are on the right track. We were in the back yard the other day sewing up my spare net and Jack said he wanted to throw it. I told him that was a wish his daddy would make sure came true!!!!
