It is with regret and much saddness that I must report that Alec Hughes has passed away early on 16 Jan 04 whilst ill in hospital. He will be missed by one and all,he was a good friend and comrade. Our thoughts go out to his wife and children at this sad time.

It was with deep sadness that I read of the death of Alec. We were in training at Woolwich together and were both posted to 50 Regiment, Alec going to 21 Bty, myself to 33 and then 56. Lost touch with him when we were posted to Lippstadt, but eventually got back in touch last year and were planning on meeting up this year. My condolences to his wife and family. He will be sadly missed.
