what can I say.(WHAT A FANTASTIC WEEKEND). It was great seeing so many old mates again and revisiting old haunts.Especialy the barracks and the trip to the Mohnesee Dam. The accomodation was first class at the Haus v.d.Heyde, the venue for the evening was excellent and a superb choice. And my brother and sister in law who were on their first reunion thoroughly enjoyed it.
However my only criticism is as it was the 10th anniversary of the regiment leaving Menden and the closure of the barracks there are two points I would like to bring up:
1. The Mayor of Menden's speech was not translated in full
and as the presentation was made on the dance floor
could not be seen or heard easily by a lot of the
members attending .
2. The DJ left a lot to be desired and I felt that due to
the momentuous occasion there should have been a group
playing not just a mediocre disco.
However the performance by Greg Lawrence was as impeccable as always. Many thanks Greg.........
