I have recently published a book on Royal Artillery Terms and Abbreviations. Even so, I am still trying to enlarge it! Can anyone advise me what MFDC stands for. I am assuming Missile Fire Direction Centre, but I am probably wrong.

Could be Mortar fire direction center? seen to remember something about that from the Arty target indication training as a flagie.
