We are just getting started composting and started preparing our site and I think we've made a big mistake already...we edged out a small area with cinderblocks and put a nice little cement pad down since we aren't sure what condition our soil is in...Then hubby read that the pile needs to be in contact with soil to help it break down. So, is there anything we can do besides dig up the concrete and start over?
It will work where you have it. Keep it damp, add your scrap kitchen/food
prepration scraps, and turn/mix it every few days and it will decompose!
Just to satisfy 'hubby' throw on it a couple shovels of soil and, as above, it
will decompose.
