Kansas no longer levies a personal property tax on sailboards. You still have to show evidence of paying sales tax before you can register with the Dept. of Parks and Wildlife. Hope that helps.

How does everyone deal with registering their sailboards with the State of Kansas and then the personal property taxes through their county? I already have my board registered with the State of Kansas, but I have not paid any county personal property tax on the thing. How does everyone else deal with these annoying taxes and fees? I didn't pay much for my board a couple years ago, and I don't have a sales receipt. I registered my board as an unknown brand, and that I got it for free (it is an old board). Help!!!
