Col and I booked sites 71 and 72 for the weekend of the 23rd Aug. at Marion Lake. Until last night there were plenty of sites from 73 down to 69 or there abouts. Come and join us. Also day trippers can rig at the sites as there is plenty of room. Cottenwood US Corps camp ground. About 50 miles due west of Emporium. See "sailing spots" Copy and paste this URL

Cole, I just checked Marion campsites for next weekend. there is nothing available in the entire camp with full hookups. We may have to do some thinking about primitive sites or go someplace else.

There has been some loose talk about going to Marion Lake next week. As we get a better look at the coming forecast the loose talk will turn into loose chatter. If you decide to go, check out sailing spots "Marion" http://www.watercooledtrading.bigstep.com/generic.html;$sessionid$T5OL4CAAACP1KP5MFMKUTIR53QVSNPX0?pid=6

I believe the sites 67 thru 73 are the best. We sail off the point at Cottonwood Campground. this is a Corps Camping area. Check the "clicks" for Corps reservations.http://www.watercooledtrading.bigstep.com/generic.html?pid=2

Several can share a site ie: travel trailer and a guest tent. So you may want to think about teaming up. This Camping area is very popular and has full hookups on these sites. So don't dilly dally Nally about making reservations as soon as you know what the heck you want to do. As for me, I see this as a catch 22 until we have a better idea of forecasts. However, if you want to go someplace to camp any way, this is a neat place amongst the Cottonwood trees. Marion is about fifty miles due west of Emporia. I've sailed there several times over the years and have had a blast. The chop sets up good in both directions. I will at least check the reservations and see how they fill up.

These site lend themselves to day sailors also.Marion is where we a planning on being this weekend. Marion is 50 miles due west of Emporia KS. Check our Web site for directions.
