In our community garden on Protection Island we have had garlic rust for the second year in a row. My questions.
Is garlic rust carried in the cloves of the infected plants?
Can we reuse the cloves of infected plants for seed?
Is it carried in the soil?
Is it necessary to not plant any garlic in the whole area of the community garden or can we just rotate our garlic beds as usual?
My impression is that its largely a result of the very cool wet June weather for 2011 & 2012. We need advice!
