Launched around 10am from King Harbor. Tried to make some bait with the Sabiki but wasn't getting any hits. Paddled to the other side of the jetty and threw out a 3" swimbait with squid strips. Caught a few mackerel when I dropped the lure straight down. Caught 10" and 15" calicos (beautiful fish) when casting towards the rocks.

Still not getting the hang of the fishfinder, though. Are there classes for newbs on how to use them?

Thanks for the report! You can check out Saba Slayer Jim Salazar. His website is www.sabaslayer.com for the fishfinder classes.

Also there is a tackle store in Huntington Beach called Pacific Edge that sometimes puts on classes for them.
