Poem: 'Storm' Revised (leaven rem'd)

My Three Wishes: Grace Mercy Peace.
(are notably not Law, Sacrifice, War)

Poem(revised): Through Storm-y... to No Storm:

I thought I had it all without a care,
via the "Self-sufficient" lie of law.
My path seemed smooth, my sea seemed still,
and hardly a stormy cloud was in my blue sky.

I thought I knew His love for me,
I thought I'd seen His grace,
I thought I did not need to grow,
I thought I'd found my place.

But then the way grew rough and dark,
the storm clouds suddenly rolled in;
Big waves began to rock my fellowship,
and therein I found I had no hold.

The fellowship I had built myself
was leavened with foolish pride.
It fell apart and left me bare,
with nowhere on earth to hide.

I had no strength nor faith to face
the law trials that lay ahead,
And so I simply spoke His name
and then bowed my weary head.

His grace and peace enveloped me,
and therein He helped me stand.
He said, "You still must face this storm,
but not alone, for I will hold your hand."

So through the dark and lonely night
He guided me 'through' much pain.
I could not see the light of day
nor when I'd smile ever again.

It was not easy in the storm,
Therein I sometimes wondered why.
At times I thought, "I can't go on."
I'd hurt, and I'd doubt, and I'd cry.

But Christ of JC never left my side
He rightly guided me each and every day.
Through pain and strife, fire and flood tide,
To endure unto "the end", with me all the way.

He worked it all out for my good,
although the way was often rough.
He only allowed what I could bear,
and then finally said, "Enough"!

He raised His right hand and said, "Be still"!
He made those stormy law doubts to cease.
He opened up the singular gate of joy,
and therein came a flood of his peace.

He is our peace, who abolished the law,
Such an accusation-all condemning storm.
For where no law, there no transgression,
Which I now have as my eternal possession.

Note: peace with God is "through" J => C
and the C thereof is "the end of the law".

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
