BE READY FOR A WORD FROM GOD

Be Ready for a Word from God

Then Nathan said to David, "You are the man!"
2 Samuel 12:7a

Recommended Reading
Luke 2:25-38

There is a critical problem with trying to avoid doing God's will, especially when we think no one else knows. God always knows and is perfectly capable of confirming His will through another person. That's what happened to King David when he covered up his sin and God sent the prophet Nathan to say to him, "You are the man!"

But there's an upside to God's knowledge: He can also send someone to bless us, encourage us, direct us, or inform us in ways that are totally unexpected. That's what happened to Mary and Joseph when they took the infant Jesus into the temple in Jerusalem for a purification rite. Two senior saints, Simeon and Anna, both saw the baby and confirmed to Mary and Joseph that He was indeed the One God had sent for the salvation and consolation of Israel. After all they had been through, what a blessed encouragement that must have been to the young parents of the Savior.

Be ready to receive God's words to you today. If it's a correction, receive it humbly and willingly; if a confirmation, receive it with joy and gratitude. Every word from God brings a blessing when obeyed.
