Hammond in line for GB role
Wednesday, 31st January 2007

Manchester Phoenix junior forward Tom Hammond has won himself a place in the Great Britain U-14 inline hockey team.

Tom plays inline for the West Coast Wasps and Crumpsall Coyotes and has come though a series of four trials to become one of only two North West players to bag a place on the national team. He'll join the squad of fourteen heading out to the United States in July to compete for Great Britain in an international tournament being staged in Detroit, Michigan.

This latest call-up means Tom has a packed sporting programme ahead of him. One of the three Manchester Phoenix players to be selected for the U-15 Northern Conference ice hockey squad, he'll be adding his GB inline role to a schedule which includes the Phoenix U-16 league campaign, Conference finals, and a Conference tour to Prague in the Czech Republic.
