Parts for R 913 ssought. Anyone know where we an get them?

Christy Power has dismantled the engine on R 913 and we find that she has dropped a valve and No. 5 piston is damaged and needs replacement. Would anyone out there have any idea where we might get parts for her engine which we believe to be a Leyland 500. We would appreciate knowing from any experts if the R 9xx series did all have 500 engines.

The engine in R913 is a Leyland 0.600, having had major work done in 2007&8, the engine suffered damage and is currently being completly rebuilt alongside the interior refurbishment, exterior panel change and a full brake overhaul.

This company seems a good place to start:

Re: R 913 Who is she?

Thanks very much for that tip. We will contact them on monday.

This perhaps an unusual request but there are people with vast experience who read this board ands someone out there just might have the vital information we need to order the parts.

R 913 is a Leyland PD3/1A decker ex CIE built on old P (PS2) mechanicals with a new Park Royal Body.

The engine has dropped two valves and we cannot find a serial on it.

I think the engine is a Leyland 500 and Stephen thinks it is a 600.

Is there anyone out there with Leyland knowledge who could (a) tell us how we can tell whether it is a 500 or 600 or (b) who simply knows what engines were stuck into R 901-R 923.

The problem is even more complicated because I think they were built with 400 and it was changed after about six months as they were short of engines when they built them.

The third question is whether 400, 500 and 600 engines are interchangeable.

Thanks for any help.
