Good to hear that some early leopards and ulsterbus have been saved, good work!

Re: Ulsterbus Leopards Report as of February 15, 2010.

Michael,

Regarding LA13, i hope you have not actually started putting the seats into it.

If you remember the last time i was over, a check revealed that despite it having no seats, the outer seat legs were all intact and we discussed the possibility of just needing seat frames ex Tiger.

My concern, as i stated, was that i felt the floor was rotting as there was areas of movement and that if the floor had to be replaced, the outer legs being in situ would not matter as they would have to come out anyway.

Rather than using Tiger seats, i am actually in favour of utilizing the seats out of Fife Scottish Leopard CSF158W instead. I would also seriously look at using the engine out of it in Leopard 1902. We already have CSF166W with DP seating anyway so using sister 158 as spares is not an issue, well at least not to me.

If your going to reseat the leopard use orignal seats other wise leave it alone

Reseating Ulsterbus Leopards with Tiger seats - pros and cons.

JP raises a very valid point but it is not as easy as it looks. The problem is that Bus Eireann have made a mess of the seats so the question is do you put back the old ones - and probably get slaughtered for having such a dirty filthy inside - or put in nice clean Tiger seats.

My first question is what seats did the Leopards carry during their life and I thought the Tiger seat was standard. Obviously JP thought otherwise and I respect his kowledge. If we knew that then we would be able to go forward.

So I seek help as to what seats were in the Leopards.

The seat was the same but tte fabrick totaly different i am sure some off the old leopards that went to bus eireann have the orignal cloth

Re: Reseating Ulsterbus Leopards with Tiger seats - pros and cons.

The point i was making is that the seat frames in CSF158W are identical to those originally fitted to LA13. However the fabric and backing is not as that is SBG.

LA13 does not have any seating AT ALL except outer seat legs still having been left in situ. Michael wants to put Tiger seats in to it, which are not original. CSF158W has identical frames apart from the fabric & backing - so i would want to use the frames out of CSF158W in LA13 for originality and keep the moquette & backing in place short term pending sourcing cushions & seat backing with original moquette & formica.

The formica will be easy to get the moquette prob easer to raise the titantic
