Philly Runners -- Welcome

Welcome to our Philly Runners forum. This message board is provided for running-related discussion in the Philadelphia area and around the world. You are welcome to start your own topics and reply to others.

You don't need to post only running-related items, but commercial interests don't have a business being on here (unless you're trying to sell your used treadmill, for example). We don't have "rules" but will try to use our best good-faith judgment.

Please do not list the full name of anybody other than yourself. Please use first names only or first name plus first letter of last name. Messages that include full names will be deleted.

When starting a topic for an event with a specific date, please list the date of the event in the subject line. For example: "Media 5 Miler Friday June 17".

Some posts will be deleted after a while due to space limitations. Have fun, and please be sure to visit our main website for more information on our club and more running-related information.

RUNS ARE BACK ON! Effective Tuesday, February 2, 6:30pm

RUNS ARE BACK ON! Effective Tuesday, February 2.

• Wear a mask — at the start of the run and when you’re done running. You can take off your mask once you’re running and spread out.

• Keep your distance — while on the Art Museum Plaza and while running. Even though you’re outside, even while wearing a mask.

• Tues/Thurs 6:30pm, Sat 9am, at the bottom of the Art Museum Steps, on the right by the sign with the museum’s hours.
***Everyone is always welcome.***

• For more info, please check out our main website here: https://www.phillyrunners.org
and check out our main map here: https://www.phillyrunners.org/map.html

You can stop reading now, but if you’d like more info, read on.

• Don’t run in clusters. Groups of 2 or 3. A bigger group should split up.

• Dining, outdoor and indoor, is at your discretion. I really don’t recommend indoor dining.

• If you’re sick, think you may be sick or are awaiting the results of a coronavirus test, don’t come to the runs.
*** If you’ve received a positive coronavirus test, even if you feel fine, please don’t come to the runs for a full two weeks.

• Be kind and patient. The last year has been rough for all of us, much rougher for some than for others. Be kind to your fellow runners and also non-runners.
*** Everybody is still on edge. If someone asks you to back up, please do so even if you think it’s unnecessary.

• I hope we won’t have to shut down again, but I apologize in advance in case we do.
