Philly Runners -- Welcome

Welcome to our Philly Runners forum. This message board is provided for running-related discussion in the Philadelphia area and around the world. You are welcome to start your own topics and reply to others.

You don't need to post only running-related items, but commercial interests don't have a business being on here (unless you're trying to sell your used treadmill, for example). We don't have "rules" but will try to use our best good-faith judgment.

Please do not list the full name of anybody other than yourself. Please use first names only or first name plus first letter of last name. Messages that include full names will be deleted.

When starting a topic for an event with a specific date, please list the date of the event in the subject line. For example: "Media 5 Miler Friday June 17".

Some posts will be deleted after a while due to space limitations. Have fun, and please be sure to visit our main website for more information on our club and more running-related information.

Springtime on the Schuylkill Saturday April 6 9am run starts at Lloyd Hall

Hi all. We'll be joining the Springtime on the Schuylkill Run on Saturday, April 6. The run will start from Lloyd Hall at 9am.

___________________________________________________________________

It's that wonderful time of year when MLK Drive belongs to runners, walkers, cyclists and other car free users - at least for a few hours on Saturdays.

In case you were wondering, in Philadelphia, the first Saturday of April means the start of car free, traffic free running along MLK Drive on Saturday mornings.

Each year we partner with Philly Runners and invite runners from all of the city's running clubs to join us for a fun run from Lloyd Hall out along MLK Drive (AKA West River Drive) at 9AM on Saturday, April 6th. Post run stick around for a potluck picnic in the Azalea Garden You do not need to be in a club to join the fun (or the run!).

Meet everyone in front of Lloyd Hall and we'll split into pace and distance groups. The run will end behind the Art Museum in the Azalea Garden for a potluck picnic - food and drinks are BYO.

Groups are encouraged to coordinate their own pot lucks and bring enough to share. This is only a suggestion - there are no requirements for this event, just to have fun!

Come celebrate the start of Spring running, the Philadelphia running community, and the open road!

** Please note: this run is on the same day as the Hot Chocolate Run in Philadelphia.
