Many are those engaged in both political and religious warfare promoted by both political and religious ministers, which evidently (from the evidence) does not produce peace nor victory over the last enemy: death. In fact, and a biblical fact, not even spiritual warfare produces peace. Rather it has made things worse, sow bad we need dyslexic glasses to make the world look right.
What's lacking is wisdom (from above), awareness, and understanding... understanding the strength of sin (the strong man to bind in order to spoil the hse of sin) is the law; And when sin is finished it brings forth death, the dead end of life + death = dead end.
Peace is not accomplished by fighting, for fighting even the "good" fight of (blind) faith is only the least part of good, better, best; And the eye for an eye of blind faith (of blind vs seeing faiths) only results in blinding the whole world to what's best for all: no law = no sin = no death (for law is the strength of sin and the sting of sin is death: 1Cor 15:56)... no law, no dead end (Rev 22:21):

So, the song "I fought the law and the law won" has a message, even a biblical message, for us all. It is far better, even best for all, to give law no place (as JC did in Mt 24:21) than to fight the injustice of it or feed it any sacrifice; for fighting such enmity only gives strength to sin, which has a deadly sting. As in the Merlin movie ending, it's better to ignore it, forget it, give it no place nor authority... hence no strength to sin, no sin consciousness, and thereby no sting of sin: death.
Solomon the wise guy doesn't say with all thy getting get warfare, but rather "with all thy getting get understanding" (Prov 4:7). Understanding (awareness, enlightenment) is far better than warfare any day; just as the greater of two lights is what rules the day, the day(light) of God(love).
Let's leave "great" of great, greater, greatest... move on to "greater" things which lead us all to love ("greatest") of three things... love perfected, which speaks of no fear. For as it's allegorically written, nobody gets from great to greatest without going through greater (of great => greater => greatest); And a greater is here (that JC is come), to shew us the way to greatest is not warfare, not even spiritual warfare, but rather understanding. For when it comes to understanding, the exhortation is get it.
Until we all get it: understanding, we're all groundead... for "there is no respect of persons with God", and "a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump".
Fear what? The enemy? What enemy? When we give law (enmity) no place, there is no enmity. Rather let us do as Christ: the end of the law, and abolish the enmity.
If it's crap, flush it (law, sin, and death).
For as Paul, The Apostle, said: law is "dung"; And as Solomon aptly said: all (grace + law) is vanity and vexation (frustration) of Spirit (grace). For just as law is not law if grace and mercy thereof applied, so also grace is no more grace if any law worketh wrath is addead to "grace is sufficient".
