Philly Runners -- Welcome

Welcome to our Philly Runners forum. This message board is provided for running-related discussion in the Philadelphia area and around the world. You are welcome to start your own topics and reply to others.

You don't need to post only running-related items, but commercial interests don't have a business being on here (unless you're trying to sell your used treadmill, for example). We don't have "rules" but will try to use our best good-faith judgment.

Please do not list the full name of anybody other than yourself. Please use first names only or first name plus first letter of last name. Messages that include full names will be deleted.

When starting a topic for an event with a specific date, please list the date of the event in the subject line. For example: "Media 5 Miler Friday June 17".

Some posts will be deleted after a while due to space limitations. Have fun, and please be sure to visit our main website for more information on our club and more running-related information.

Guidelines for Posting on the Message Board – Please read before posting

Hi all. In an effort to make reading and editing of the message board easier, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

For posting a race:

Please put name, distance(s) and date of race in the subject title.

In the text of the message, please include the following:

• name, distance(s) and date of race

• location of race. Please be as specific as possible (MLK Drive; Tyler State Park in Bucks County; Salt Lake City, Utah; Paris, France)

• link to online registration or other means of registering for the race

• if there are multiple types of events (relay, team, multi-sport, choice of distances, etc)

For all other messages:

• Please make the subject line as specific as possible and include the date if the post is date-specific (“Volunteer for Triathlon on June 23” is better than “Volunteers needed for an upcoming race”).

• Although we allow anonymous posting, anonymous posts are much more likely to be ignored, regarded as hoaxes and/or deleted. People who run with us regularly and whom we know are generally given a little more leeway when it comes to posting on the board. Please identify yourself unless there is a really good reason not to.

• If you’re unsure of whether we will consider your message appropriate or you feel we unjustly deleted your message, you may contact Brian and/or Seth through the “Join Us/Contact” page on the main website.

Thank you for your help in keeping this message board as user-friendly and relevant as possible.
