california report
A couple friends and I went out of Eureka down towards Cape Mendocino on May 6. We did a bunch of homework and found a couple likely spots. We tried everything from 600 to 200 feet. In about 250 ft. we came across a small little rockpile and ended up getting two flatties. We got blessed with a light current and beautiful weather. The 18 lb came on a mackerel head and the 53 lb came on a glow Boone squid tipped with a humboldt squid head. I hardly see any CA posts so I decided to share. |
