From the list of names that you give from the Witheridge War Memorial 1914-18, I have searched the records of soldiers who died in the Great War for those records where the deceased solder was either born and/or resided in Witheridge.
The following names have emerged of whom no reference is made on the War Memorial/

William Henry HITCHCOCK 14761 Private KIA 25/9/1915
William STICKWELL 14715 Private KIA 1/7/1916
William James VICKEREY 10850 Private KIA 25/9/1915
John WESTERN 11964 Private Died 13/8/1917
I cannot find an A. Roberts but do have
John Francis ROBERTS 8885 L/Cpl KIA 9/9/1916
