Hi
I want to congratulate on such a wonderful site, I have been visiting this site for the last couple of years, and their is always something new to look at.
I have been doing my family history, and traced my Bulled family back to 1673, cant seem to be able to get any further,
Nicholas Bulled born 1673 he married Alice Smale 2nd October 1701 in Witheridge. If anyone could help me to get further back, I would love the help. 
I am also interested in finding out about how John Lee Bulled my great grandfather, lost everything he owned by signing his lively hood, one drunked night, He lost Mill House, his dogs and kennels, I know there was a court case and he lost, but can not find the news paper article as I can not find the date,**bankrupt order was made on 5th January 1900 Bridge Hall Barnstaple.1st meeting at Kings Arms Hotel Barnstaple Jan 16 1900 12 noon, Date of public examination Feb 6 1900. Johanna his daughter died in 1910 in Exeter, so I am working between 1900-1910.
His father was Edmund Bulled, a wheelwright who lived on the square, John also had twin boys who died when they were abt 9 months old, their grave is on the left as you walk up to the church door.
Any info I would be very grateful, will be visiting Witheridge beginning of April.  |
