My ancestor is on the 1861 census at 12 Fore St, Witheridge. Her parents (George and Harriet WREFORD) are apparently absent on this day but her elder sister Drusilla WREFORD is recorded as Innkeeper.
As she is only 14 at the time (the entry also appears to have a question mark near the word innkeeper), I presume she was looking after the inn while her parents were absent. The same Wreford family, emigrated to New Zealand 3 years later in 1864.
I am eager to find which inn the entry refers to and any more information relating to it. Can anyone help me? |
