Having just discovered my ancestry to be from your part of Devon, with family in the 18th and 19th centuries in Rackenford, Poughill (but not yet discovered in Witheridge - sorry) I very pleased to find your websites. The history and information are a great insight into the life my ancestors must have lived. Around 1870 my great grandfather age 12 joined the GWR as a porter and we lost contact with our AG LAB roots. I just write to say thankyou for all the information you are sharing in such a brilliant way. |
