Disappointment with the LP
As a longtime Jeffersonian and Libertarian I am very disappointed by the recent gutting of the LP platform. I am considering leaving the LP since it seems to be taken over by conservatives and quisling libertarians. Conservatism is the very antithesis of liberty. Men like Jefferson, Paine and Franklin were classical liberal radicals. In their time they were considered the "left" and roundly despised by conservatives. The LP seems to have abandoned it's principled and radical platform and instead adopted a weak, luke warm conservative document. It is truly a tragedy. It is time to join and support the Boston Tea Party ( BTP). In Liberty George Gori |

Re: Disappointment with the LP
The Constitution Party platform is sometimes more libertarian than the ideas of these Libertarian reformers. I might have to vote for some of their candidates. You're not the only one who's disgusted. Go to thirdpartywatch.com to see more of the debate. It goes on ad nauseum and no-one seems to change their minds. |
